• This inclusive program is available for pregnant moms, and children ages birth to three who meet income guidelines available in Saline and Dickinson counties.
 
• Early Head Start is provided at no cost to the family.

• Enrolled families receive weekly 90-minute home visits with a Family Consultant trained in child development and social services.

• Family Consultants make weekly home visits to provide parents information on discipline, nutrition, and other topics. 

• Monthly socialization opportunities give children and adults a chance to interact with other families, participate in activities or just play.

• Early Head Start Child Care offers services from 7:30am to 4:30pm for children age 6 weeks to 36 months, in Salina.

• Heartland partners with Abilene Child Care to provide child care slots for children up to five years.

• Early Head Start Child Care helps income-eligible families reduce the cost of child care while the parents are working or attending school.

• Family Consultants and teaching staff meet with parents during the year to discuss each child's progress and to set goals for further development.

• Family Consultants help parents expand their knowledge about child development, health, nutrition, child care, budgeting, job skills, and transitioning to preschool.
